A long, long time ago in another pre-digital galaxy when they used to put film in the camera.

There are also a couple of interviews by me in Jedi, way back before mobile phones and the world-wide-web, when my hair was a different colour. It was a long, long time ago in another pre-digital galaxy when they used to put film in the camera.

I’ve finally dipped my toe into the world of Instagram, so please pop along and follow me, and I’ll share a few tales from a long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…

Biography

Michael Carter is a Scottish actor and writer with a rich career spanning over four decades across theatre, television, and film. He is best known internationally for his portrayal of the memorable Twi’lek majordomo Bib Fortuna in Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi (1983). His performance gave life to one of the saga’s most iconic supporting characters, instantly recognisable to fans across generations.

Born in Dumfries, Scotland, Michael trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) and began his career on the stage. He has appeared onstage on Broadway with Dustin Hoffman, in the West End and in many productions at the Royal National Theatre alongside Maggie Smith, Judi Dench and Anthony Hopkins.

On screen, Michael has appeared in cult classics such as An American Werewolf in London (1981). His television credits include British favourites such as Rebus, Taggart, Doctor Who, and Call Red and he was also a regular on the Scottish TV Series Two Thousand Acres of Sky. Michael also co-wrote a film called One Man’s War, which starred Anthony Hopkins in 1992.

His continued involvement with Star Wars fandom — through autograph events and interviews — has kept him connected to generations of fans around the world.

Through this official site, he’s delighted to connect directly with fans by offering personally signed photographs — an authentic memento from a galaxy far, far away.
